Winding through a lush, tropical valley adjacent to Marriott Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort & Spa, the Carambola Golf & Country Club is truly one of the great treasures of American golf.
Commissioned by Laurance Rockefeller, the course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., one of the most highly respected designers of the 20th century. Carambola opened in 1966 to rave reviews and was considered by the master designer himself to be one of his finest courses.
This Trent Jones signature course is the recipient of Golf Magazine’s Gold Medal Award and a “must play” for any true lover of the game of golf.
A par 72, 18 hole golf course with 6,843 yards of play, the course features rolling terrain, nearly 100 bunkers and four of the best par 3’s around. Natural spring-like ponds come into play on holes 5 and 14. The most challenging hole is the signature #8, a 223-yard, par 3, which requires an uphill tee shot to a well-bunkered green.
The golf course offers a driving range for proactive golfers who like to warm up and get the kinks out of their swing before starting a round.
Free shuttle service is available for resort guests upon request. Resort guests also receive special golf rates when purchased through the resort.
